ODBC Installation Problems Cannot find Sage ODBC Actions:- Reset ODBC Path Click Start
[Windows 98 alternative method. This will open the ODBC editor as shown.
In the list there will be an item "Payroll32" click on this and click on configure button. To bring up the setup for payroll.
The section 4 lines down that begins " Database: C:\." should point at a valid "payroll.mdb" file. However on a new sage installation it will point at demodata.mdb. The position of the valid payroll.mdb file varies. There are normally three places. New installations normally have the Sage data under a directory c:\Sage Data. C:\Sage Data\Sage Payroll\COMPANY_001\PAYDATA Some old installation and customised installation (including those following sage advice for multiple installation of Sage) have the data in the program files directory something similar to:- C:\Program Files\Sage Payroll\COMPANY_001\PAYDATA Some clients have customised their installations of Sage to keep their Sage files on the network in which case it will be something similar to F:\Sage Data\Sage Payroll\COMPANY_001\PAYDATA To find the files click on Select and use the file browser to find the relevant directory, select payroll.mdb.
Click OK, OK, OK to accept the chosen database. Note. If you have multiple companies installed for payroll the system will work as long as the companies data directories are called COMPANY_001, COMPANY_002 etc and are all themselves held in the same directory. Once the software knows where the first directory is it will successfully find any others that it needs.
